The J W Marriott Indianapolis Downtown opened its doors today, completing the seven-acre Marriott Place project along the west side of downtown Indianapolis.  The development is a collection of five Marriott properties: the new J W Marriott, Courtyard by Marriott, Springhill Suites, Fairfield Inn & Suites and Marriott Indianapolis Downtown.

Scott Blalock, general manager, said, "The new J W Marriott is truly the crown jewel of the Marriott Place development."  The building has 1,005 rooms, 54 meeting rooms, 104,000 square feet of event space, and a 40,500 square foot ballroom—the largest in the Midwest.  All of the properties are connected to the newly renovated and expanded Convention Center.

ProCLAD furnished and installed metal panels on both the expansion of the Indianapolis Convention Center and the new J W Marriott.  Hunt Construction Group, the general contractor, chose ProCLAD to supply curved composite metal panels at the entryway, multi-story column covers at the atrium, loading dock cladding/soffits, and several mechanical screen walls.

With today's grand opening of the world's largest J W Marriott, the Hunt Construction Group successfully completed the $450 million project on time and within budget for White Lodging, the developer-owner-manager of the hotel.
